Description
Experience the energy and excitement of flamenco music and dance with students from Tierra Adentro of New Mexico, an arts charter school focusing on New Mexico cultural arts. Dancers, guitar players, and vocalists perform an array of flamenco choreography created by national and international flamenco artists. They share the history and cultural ties of this musical experience and invite the audience to try clapping flamenco rhythms.
Tierra Andentro of New Mexico was founded in 2010 by a group of professional artists and educators from the community with the intent to preserve and continue traditions of New Mexican culture. In addition to participating in typical high school academics, students dedicate themselves to more than 10 hours a week of study in one of the school’s arts areas of Dance, Music, or Visual Arts.
