The Supreme Court is generally thought of as the citadel of the rule of law and an essential beacon of liberty and rights. It decides cases with widespread social and political impact, but the Court is not infallible, and it has also been known to make dramatically poor rulings. This lecture provides an overview of some of the Court’s most impactful, most egregious, and most curious opinions of all time. Please note: the new date for this class is October 22nd.
Andrew Schultz is a retired attorney who practiced law with the Rodey Law Firm for nearly 40 years. He is the only graduate of the UNM School of Law to clerk at the US Supreme Court, where he served Justice Byron R. White. For more than three decades, Schultz taught as an adjunct professor at the UNM School of Law.
