Description
Spanish and Solidarity focuses on learning and improving our Spanish through conversation with native Spanish speakers and peers, while demonstrating solidarity with the immigrant community in Albuquerque. The class meets twice a week and blends didactic instruction with small-group conversations. We also socialize with each other and our Spanish-speaking tutors, and attend local activities to support our immigrant families and peers. No class Presidents’ Day or 3/30-4/3.
Encuentro’s mission is to transform New Mexico into a thriving community for all of its residents. This is done through engaging with Latinx immigrant families in educational and career development opportunities that build skills for economic and social justice. Encuentro is committed to the belief that quality education should build both individual and community knowledge, and with that knowledge comes individual and community power.
