Description
Take a behind-the-scenes tour of Alameda Greenhouse, the Southwest’s largest producer of poinsettias. Join us in Albuquerque’s North Valley as we tour greenhouses full of native plants, food crops, pansies, poinsettias, houseplants, and more. In the fall, the pansy & poinsettia crops take center stage and feature a wide array of colors and patterns. The tour is hosted by acting owner & operator, Sara Jane, who also created Alameda Greenhouse’s sister shop, the Groovy Little Greenhouse.
Alameda Greenhouse’s rich history began in Albuquerque’s North Valley in the 1960s. Originally a hydroponic tomato farm, it grew into a thriving greenhouse by the1980s and now houses nine greenhouses where a vast array of peppers, tomatoes, poinsettias, pansies, houseplants, native plants, and perennials are cultivated.
