Abelard was a famous philosopher/theologian at the University of Paris in the 12th century. One of his students was Heloise. Their relationship developed into a romance that was strictly forbidden and thus there were tragic consequences for them both. This lecture looks at the lives and work of both these amazing human beings and considers the meaning of faith and love in a tragic situation.
