Description
The Spanish Empire extended across substantial portions of Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. This lecture explores lesser-known regions of the Spanish Empire and the diverse ethnicities that lived and thrived within its boundaries. Learn about the settlement of the Cajuns in Spanish (not French) Louisiana, why the Philippines remained part of the Spanish Empire far longer than Mexico, and how Equatorial Guinea came to be governed from as far away as Buenos Aires, Argentina.
