The 2027 Legislature convenes alongside a new governor and lieutenant governor, a new Secretary of State, and a new Public Land Commissioner. While all state senators remain the same, the House of Representatives sees changes due to retirements and the results of the 2026 elections. In a 60-day session, legislators typically introduce more than a thousand bills covering topics ranging from the state cookie to crime reduction. What can we expect the session to discuss in 2027?
