Description
Beowulf is an Old English epic poem written down sometime before 1000 AD and nearly lost to history. The story has inspired generations of modern writers. Learn about the history and content of the original manuscript, the language in which it was written, and how later authors and filmmakers have adapted it—including two writers who link the tale to Neanderthals. This illustrated lecture features plenty of images and some surprising connections.
