Composers have been fascinated with this small but powerful instrument for hundreds of years, producing some of the most challenging and satisfying music in the violin repertoire. Barbara Barber performs a concert of music for solo violin, spanning the 17th Century to the present. Barbara Barber is internationally recognized as a violinist, violist, pedagogue, and author. She has performed across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. She earned her degrees in Violin Performance from Texas Tech University and has held faculty positions there, as well as at Texas Christian University and the University of Colorado Boulder. Barber plays professionally in the area with the Santa Fe Symphony, New Mexico Philharmonic, and Juniper Ensemble.
