Learn some of the basic facts about aquatic insects and their imitations that are important to the western trout fly fisher. Bob Widgren discusses insect life cycles and the flies (lures) that represent each stage. The lecture presents interesting knowledge for both anglers and anyone interested in insects, river life, or entomology alike.
Bob Widgren has been in the fly fishing industry since 1980, owning a local fly shop for 28 years. He is an International Fly Fishing Federation certified fly casting instructor, and has taught hundreds of classes and clinics in NM and CO. Presently, he teaches fly fishing and casting instruction for New Mexico Trout, a conservation organization, and Project Healing Waters a veterans group.
