Description

This lecture focuses on the life and work of the French mathematician, philosopher and theologian, Blaise Pascal. Yates details Pascal’s spiritual class Pensées (Thoughts), in which Pascal reflects on the need for risking oneself in a kind of wager that God is God, and that Christ is our Savior. Interestingly, Pascal also laid the groundwork for probability theory. The Pensées was never finished but was intended as an outline for a full defense of the Christian Gospel.
