Description

Frank Yates explores the fundamentalist movement in America beginning in the nineteenth century to the present by drawing on the works of James Barr, who taught Old Testament at Oxford and Vanderbilt. Yates examines the fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible and its view of truth and also considers its strengths, its weaknesses, and the challenges it poses to the church in our times.

Reverend Frank Yates is the interim pastor at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church. He teaches New Testament in the religious studies program at UNM. He is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and UT Austin and has graduate degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
