Description

Justice Samuel Alito has served on the Supreme Court for nearly two decades. He has called himself a “practical originalist,” and throughout his tenure, he has been a strong and outspoken member of the Court’s conservative bloc. Andrew Schultz examines Justice Alito’s career, his unique role in many of the Court’s high-profile modern decisions, and involvement in several incidents relating to potential ethical issues.

Andrew Schultz is an attorney, retired after practicing law with Rodey Law Firm for nearly 40 years. He is the only graduate of the UNM Law School to serve as a law clerk at the US Supreme Court, serving as a clerk to Byron R. White. Schultz has been an adjunct professor at UNM’s School of Law for more than three decades.
