Description

THIS IS A ZOOM CLASS.  There are few things that are twentieth century inventions: cell phones, microwave ovens and TV dinners. But most things are not a new invention: running water, birth control pills, portable computers and taxi fare meters are all ancient! The first coin-operated vending machine dispensed holy water centuries ago. Dave Crossley presents some of the ingenious, surprising, and forgotten inventions of the past.

David Crossley has degrees in both electrical and mechanical engineering; he retired from a 40-year career in the aerospace arena. He taught electromagnetics at New Mexico State University, performed electronic warfare operations in five war zones with the Air Force out of Kirtland Air Force Base, and is now playing oboe with the Albuquerque Philharmonic.
