Description

Join Lance Chilton, MD as he takes you through the activities of the recently completed New Mexico 30-day session. Chilton has worked for the Legislative Finance Committee (LFC) for the past six years and provides background on what the LFC does and does not do and how it impacts bills. He covers the most hotly contested bill of this session, what passed and what did not, especially as regards health and older New Mexicans, and why it’s important.

Lance Chilton was an Albuquerque pediatrician for 43 years — he had started teaching advocacy for children to students and pediatric residents before he retired six years ago.  Since then, he has developed bill summaries, called FIRs, for the New Mexico State Legislature’s Legislative Finance Committee each session, concentrating on health issues.
