Description

Stories and song have been linked since time immemorial. This performance brings a program of myth, lyricism and mystery through historical musical variants and their narratives that connect cultures.

Scott Darsee and Johanna Hongell-Darsee perform early traditional Scandinavian/Celtic ballads and tales using both modern and traditional instruments in unique and original arrangements. Their wanderings have led them from Iowa and Finland while exploring the links between Scandinavian, Celtic, European, North American, and Asian singing traditions. Their recordings have been nominated for Best Vocal Performance by the New Mexico Music Awards (2014, 2016, 2020), and have been included in many compilations.
