Description
Through never-before-seen interviews shot over 20 years, John Lewis tells the gripping tale of his role in the vanguard of the Civil Rights Movement. He was the youngest speaker at the historic 1963 March on Washington, and he led the Bloody Sunday march in Selma where the peaceful protesters were attacked with clubs, whips, and tear gas. This march led to President Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act into law, prohibiting racial discrimination at the polls.
Bullfrog Communities uses film and discussion as a simple way for concerned citizens to stay informed about pressing issues: water, economic justice, food, energy & climate change, immigration, and environment. Scott Sharp will lead a discussion after each film.
This is part of the Friday at the Movies series.
