J-Guys Blues brings together three accomplished musicians with a passion for blues history. The group features guitarist Gary “Junior” Stamper, an educator and journalist who has taught and written about the blues throughout New Mexico; drummer Johnny Benoit, a respected musician known in Austin, Albuquerque, and Santa Fe; and bassist Jay Drongé, who brings more than 50 years of performing experience.
