Joel Cruz-Esparza spent his formative years between Mexico City and Los Angeles before attending UC San Diego, UCLA, and the University of Madrid, Spain. He earned his Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law and later settled in New Mexico, where he built a 43-year legal career serving with Legal Aid, the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, and the Pueblo of Laguna as Family Attorney.
