Join this hands-on introduction to metalsmithing at Meltdown Studio. In this four-hour workshop, make a sterling silver and bezel-set genuine stone ring. Choose from a variety of beautiful semi-precious stones and mineral cabochons. Make your own style, in your own size, so it’s perfect for YOU! Techniques learned include: texturing, stamping, bezel-making, soldering, oxidation, polishing, and stone-setting. No previous experience is required. All materials and tools are provided. Participants may bring a snack. Limited enrollment.
Margie Weinstein is a native New Mexican who has worked as a studio potter for 25 years and retired from teaching jewelry and ceramics at Albuquerque Public Schools. She is a bench mate and instructor at Meltdown where she has taught a variety of classes.
