This lecture provides an introduction to local habitats, describes birds that can be found in nearby neighborhoods, good places to go birding, and discusses birding ethics and conservation. Learn about birding apps, binoculars, and other resources for birding. Laura Banks includes photos, bird sounds, and helpful hints to share her love of birds and inspire participants to learn more.
Laura Banks, PhD, is the President of the Bird Alliance of Central New Mexico, a local non-profit organization and a chapter of the National Audubon Society. She has degrees in veterinary medicine and public health and is a proud bird nerd. Her favorite bird is the Sandhill Crane and she will gladly explain why, if asked.
