Description

The Roman Catholic Church has a long and storied history in the greater Albuquerque area, starting in 1540 with the arrival of the Coronado expedition and growing into more than 100 parishes, missions, and other institutions across the city. Explore the development of parishes from as far north as Bernalillo to Isleta in the south. Of particular interest are those parishes that started out as missions and evolved into full-fledged mother churches.
