Between stories of friends or relatives who wished they had not undergone surgery because of lasting pain and news reports about the ongoing opioid epidemic, many do not believe there are safe, effective solutions for their chronic pain. Join us for a review of the continuum of interventional pain treatment options and a discussion about the safety and efficacy of treatments further along the continuum.
Julie A. Muché, MD, is Medical Director of the Pain Clinic at Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital and an assistant professor at University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She received her BS in Biology and Bioethics from the University of Southern California, followed by her MD from the American University of the Caribbean. She completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Loyola University Medical Center and is a board certified physiatrist specializing in pain management and rehabilitation. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and of the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
