Description

Augustine of Hippo wrote The Teacher around 389 C.E. and directed it to his son, Adeodatus. The text explores how the Christian faith is transmitted from one person to another through words illuminated by the Spirit. The teaching process is concerned first and foremost with the Truth that sets us free. We also consider Against the Academicians, in which Augustine addresses the skeptical challenge to the Christian faith and considers how it should be answered.
