Cael Chappell has been working with weavers in Africa since 1991. In 2002, he founded Baskets of Africa, his company that became the largest importer of African baskets in the world. Traveling across Africa to meet weavers, Chappell discovered that basketry is as diverse as it is universal. Emanating from his deep understanding of traditional African basketry, he quickly developed his own unique style of whimsical weaving from waxed linen thread.
