NEW DATE Join Alicia Romero, head curator of history at Albuquerque Museum, for a tour of The Other Route 66: 100 Years of People, Identity, and Place in Albuquerque.  The exhibition features historic objects, photographs, ephemera, neon signs, music, and more from the 352-mile stretch of highway spanning the state.  It focuses on the untold stories of the everyday New Mexicans who built, traveled, and lived on or near the route, with special attention given to Albuquerque. Limited enrollment.

Alicia Romero is the head curator and curator of history at the Albuquerque Museum. She focuses on sociocultural history of the Southwest, popular culture, and memory studies. Before joining the Albuquerque Museum in 2023, she was head curator at the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe. Romero was born and raised in Albuquerque, attended UNM for her BA and MA degrees, and earned her PhD in history from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
